Join us for CONFLUENCE 2023

A Georgia Baptist Collegiate Conference

What is Confluence?

Confluence is a gathering of college and university students from across Georgia who come together for one shared purpose: Jesus. They come from different places, different experiences, and even different cultures, but they share the same passion to grow in their relationship with God. Through a weekend of worship, learning, playing, and growing together, students take their next step in following Jesus and making Him known on their campus.

This Year's Theme

The Apostle Paul said he was compelled to preach the good news of Jesus. (1 Corinthians 9:16) The disciples Peter and John said they could not help but speak of what they had seen and heard! (Acts 4:20) All of these men understood when our lives have been transformed by Jesus, we can not help but want to tell others!

This year at Confluence, we will be reminded of how Jesus radically changes our lives for the good and be challenged to share that good news with others.

Keynote Speakers

Tom Richter

Friday & Saturday Keynotes

When asked who Tom Richter is, you often get from him that he is a follower of Jesus. Which, at any given moment, means he is a pastor, speaker, husband, father and ultimate Frisbee player of average to moderate ability. Currently, Tom is serving as the pastor of Cullman First Baptist Church in Northern Alabama.  Before moving to Cullman, AL Tom served for 14 years as a pastor in New York City at New Hope Christian Church located in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens, NYC.

Tom was born in Murray, KY and grew up a happy fellow, interested in basketball, Nintendo, and church.  God found him as a young boy, and he really believed God called him to be a preacher. After High School, Tom attended Murray State University and got a degree in English Literature, and then received his M.Div. from Princeton Theological Seminary. He and his wife Jackie have three kids, Katie, Carson, and Anna.

Levi Skipper

Sunday Keynote

Levi currently serves as the lead strategist for the Church Strengthening team of the GBMB. Prior to this, he served as the evangelism catalyst. He graduated from New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and earned his Doctor of Ministry degree in 2009 from Luther Rice Seminary. He became the pastor of Concord Baptist Church in 2010, and over the next nine years, the church increased baptisms by 122%, Sunday School attendance by 115%, and birthed four additional campuses. Levi is the author of the discipleship tools “Resolved,” “Spiritual Avalanche,” and “Marriage in the Red.” He and his wife, Christa, have four children: Garrison, Mattie, Gavin, and Marlee.
